FAQ

Do you need a lawn to install baby stork announcement signs?

We do need lawns in the traditional sense to be able to install the baby stork signs. When we say lawn, we mean an unobstructed piece of land with grass on it. We cannot install signs in rocks, pea gravel, concrete, mulch, flower beds, raised beds, garden pots, thick landscaping, hard-packed soil, or small boulders. We need to stake the sign 10 inches into the ground and we cannot do so under the above-mentioned conditions.

Also, we cannot install the baby stork signs in commercial areas or in front of structures that belong to the city, county, or state. Examples are public utility boxes, water mains, etc. We cannot obstruct access to these areas as we will be fined.

What is your area of service?  Do you deliver signs for display on the property of commercial business locations?

We serve Knoxville Metro Area. We deliver our storks signs for the yard to most communities within this area, including Bearden, Bluegrass, Cedar Bluff, Farragut, Fountain City, Hardin Valley, Karns, Maryville, Riverbend, Rocky Hill, Sequoyah Hills, Westmoreland, West Hills, and more.

Please note: we cannot install the stork signs in commercial areas or in front of structures that belong to the city, county, or state. Examples are public utility boxes, water mains, etc. We cannot obstruct access to these areas as we will be fined. We also don’t install signs in apartment buildings or condominiums as the lawns belong to the community and management doesn’t allow it. We do install signs in townhouses even if there is a very small lawn belonging to the homeowner or lessee.  We deliver signs to all residential lawns.

How soon should I order a birth announcement sign? What is the cut-off for next-day delivery?

Unfortunately, a baby’s arrival is unpredictable, therefore we cannot accept reservations in advance. Please order the birth announcement sign via our website once the baby is born to rent a stork. After we receive your order, we will deliver and install the stork within 24-48 hours. For Baby Showers and Sip & Sees, advanced reservations are accepted.

How long is the rental period for the stork signs?

Our new baby announcement stork signs are rented for 7 days. Please call us if you want the signs to be picked up sooner. For events like Baby Showers and Sip & Sees, the stork is rented for 1 day.

How much does a new baby stork yard sign rental cost?  Will there be a delivery fee?

We charge $90 for a baby announcement stork (a 7-day rental) or for an event rental $60-$75 (a 1-day rental). We do offer additional stork signs (in case of multiple births) at a discount.

Our delivery rates are

  • Within 20 miles from the base address: $0
  • 20.1 – 25 miles from the base address: $20
  • 25.1 – 30 miles from the base address: $30

How much are sibling/message stars/dog bones and cat signs?

$20 each. The sibling stars/message stars and pet signs are left behind as keepsakes at the end of the rental period.

What service do you offer for multiple births?

You can order storks signs for twins or triplets. Two storks would be $150 and three storks would be $210. Please contact us to discuss ordering storks for multiples.

What service do you offer for happy grandparents?

When a baby is born, it’s not just the parents who are excited; Grandparents are over the moon! We offer 7-day stork sign rentals to proud grandparents to celebrate their newest family members. Our grandparent stork sign comes with the option of a generic or personalized bundle to display the baby’s details.

Where will you place the sign in the yard?

We will use our best judgment when placing the stork to ensure optimal visibility and photo opportunities. If there is a specific location you would like for the sign to be placed, please notify us when you order and we will do our best to accommodate your request. We cannot guarantee the exact placement of the sign if you are not at home when we deliver the sign and/or if you have not marked the location in the yard with a clearly visible marker. We cannot install signs in rocks, pea gravel, concrete, mulch, flower beds, raised beds, garden pots, thick landscaping, hard-packed soil, or small boulders.

Can I move, mow around, or attach anything to the signs?

Please do not move or take down the yard signs as damage can occur. If you wish to have the signs moved to a different location in your yard, please call 817-682-0494 and we will be happy to accommodate you. Please do not use a mower or weed eater near the signs as damage can occur if any contact is made with the signs. Do not attach anything to the signs, including balloons. When a balloon pops the sun bakes the latex into the sign causing permanent damage.

What happens if the sign gets damaged?

If you notice any damage to the sign, please notify Dogwood Storks immediately. Our signs are durable, weather-resistant, and designed to last. However, the signs are not designed for climbing. We are not responsible or liable for any injuries involving the sign while it is being rented. The renter of the sign assumes responsibility and any damages may result in additional charges. By ordering a sign, the individual accepts responsibility for the sign while it’s on their or their family member’s or friend’s property. Thank you so much for your consideration and cooperation.

How do I place my order? How do I pay for your service?

We accept Visa, Master Card, Discover, and American Express using Paypal through our online order form.

We accept all payments for all yard signs in advance before the delivery.

What is your refund policy?

You will receive a refund if you cancel your stork sign rental at least 24 hours in advance or if there is extreme weather that prevents us from installing your sign.
